Self Mastery… Day Twenty Two – Fearlessness

31 January, 2011

This is my 28 day Mastery of Self diary. It contains thoughts and lessons from the initial course I took in June 2010 and the re-cap in January 2011. I will start each daily post with some quotes pertinent to the daily topic, then the lesson quotes that stood out for me at each itteration of the course plus some other observations that may be of interest/help. You’ll find my overview of the whole course here and Libby’s site for extra info and sign up here.

‘Action conquers fear.” - Peter Nivio Zarlenga

“Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves–regret for the past and fear of the future.” - Fulton Oursler

“You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.” - Mary Manin Morrisey

2010 course – “I am not going to die, for there is no death for my soul and death for my body is inevitable but unimportant. I am eternal.” – Swami Rama. Courage develops fearlessness. It is the first rung on the ladder of freedom.

2011 recap – When I know who I am there is nothing to fear. I know that I am being guided, protected and empowered by my Greater Power as I journey home.

The journey home is a beautiful thought. I love the idea that we leave home at birth and slowly journey back though our manifest life.

A way to look at fearlessness is the Playstation analogy:

I am sitting with a friend playing a video shoot um up game. Am I fearful? Do I care if my character dies? Do I hate my friend as he kills my character point blank? No. I laugh and have fun in the Playstation world knowing that I can bring my character back to life for the next game. I turn to my friend to find that I’ve been playing with myself all along. How could I be anything other than Loving to myself? What is there to fear in Love..? nothing…

This was an odd day for me. How do I plan ahead to be fearless? In review, when was I fearless? Those were blanks for me. Perhaps I just AM fearless. That’s a pleasant thought. Cheers!

That’s right Matt. How could you be anything other than fearless. Your essential nature is playing the ‘game of life’ and nothing can harm it. Rock-On..!

I don’t know that I am fearless, but I am absolutely courageous!
