Self Mastery… Day Eighteen – POWER

27 January, 2011

This is my 28 day Mastery of Self diary. It contains thoughts and lessons from the initial course I took in June 2010 and the re-cap in January 2011. I will start each daily post with some quotes pertinent to the daily topic, then the lesson quotes that stood out for me at each itteration of the course plus some other observations that may be of interest/help. You’ll find my overview of the whole course here and Libby’s site for extra info and sign up here.

“The difficulties, hardships and trials of life, the obstacles one encounters on the road to fortune are positive blessings. They knit the muscles more firmly, and teach self-reliance. Peril is the element in which power is developed.” – William Mathews (1818-1909)

“First comes thought, then organization of that thought into ideas and plans, then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.” — Napoleon Hill

“When we take control of our mental state by deliberately choosing our thoughts and attitudes, we can alter the meaning we associate to the experiences we have and results we see in our life.” — Clayton J. Moore

“Our minds become magnetized with the dominating thoughts we hold in our minds, and these magnets attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts.” — Napoleon Hill

“Consult not your fears, but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what is still possible for you to do.” — Pope John XXIII

“Our destiny changes with our thoughts; we shall become what we wish to become, do what we wish to do, when our habitual thoughts correspond with our desires.” — Orison Swett Marden

2010 course – The true source of power is a Greater Power. My SELF is tapped into this power.

2011 recap – I consciously tap into my Greater Power to draw strength and guidance from to dissolve or transform any false beliefs I have. Then I move further towards my Higher Purpose.

This is subtle. I find I am constantly reminding myself to notice… to sit quietly… just let the guidance come.

Libby says.

Remember, there IS NO POWER SHORTAGE.
There are 2 elements to Power:

  1. Having control over our own thoughts, emotions and actions (wing of self-effort)
  2. The existence of a Greater Power we can tap into (wing of Grace)

I only use the word Power to refer to the “light side of the Force”. For the dark side, I use words like force, coercion, domination, oppression, suppression.

Because EVERYTHING comes from thought (the invisible realm), IMAGINATION is your POWER TOOL. Mind Movie and the Manifestation Formula are mechanisms

I think it’s worth mentioning how to identify False Guidance. I feel a sense of agitation and fast mind chatter around decisions that are probably not my Higher Self at work. So comfortable (like a cosy jumper) and slow is my indicator that Internal and Higher Guidance are working their magic. It may be different for you?

To tap into my Greater Power:

  1. Monitor my Thoughts, Emotions, Actions – act if any are out of alignment
  2. STOP – just be with the moment and let my mind’s chatter subside
  3. Be In The Now
  4. Inner body sensing – focus in the belly and notice where that takes me
  5. TfM’s

How about this for a thought… Most of our body is In The Now, processing body functions and sensing all around.

So… We only have a little bit of our brain that wants to live in the past and future left to ‘convert’…

Because EVERYTHING comes from thought (the invisible realm), IMAGINATION is our POWER TOOL. Therefore,
we must be skilled in how to practically utilize the POWER of our imagination. IMAGINATION IS EVERYTHING!!

Some more IMAGINATION quotes Libby shared with us today:

“Everything you can imagine is real.” – Pablo Picasso
“Every really new idea looks crazy at first.” – Abraham H. Maslow
“Imagination is the eye of the soul.” – Joubert
“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire; you will what you imagine; and at last you create what you will.” – George Bernard Shaw
“Imagination decides everything.” – Blaise Pascal
“The power of Imagination makes us Infinite. – John Muir

During this morning’s meditation we were instructed to have our Captain ask our Greater Power how we can tap into our Power more fully. I was told that I AM Lisa the Christ. The Truth about me is that I AM a Christed being and the illusion is that I am Lisa Biancuzzo Howard. Live in the Truth.

I like the links between different concepts, Libby’s suggestion that one aspect of Power is a wing of self effort (having control over our own thoughts, emotions and actions) and that another is a wing of Grace (the existence of a Greater Power we can tap into). Anthony and I have had a theme running through quite a few of our sessions, the idea that as traders / beings our job is to “turn up” and do our bit, every day, with discipline, and then we trust that the Universe / God / Our Greater Power adds to that at the right time and in the right way (order / synchronicity, power, trust).

Many of these concepts seem to have “wings” and links to other concepts, for instance we looked at the links between willingness and choice.

And as for power, we have found doing each others manifestation formulae very power – ful.

100% agreement on all of that, Malcolm. If people only understood the POWER they had at their fingertips by combining their effort with the synchronicity of the Universe. It is a winning combination. When you think about
big businesses, like Microsoft and Bill Gates, for example, who wouldn’t have wanted to be HIS partner when he was first starting out. But we have access to a GREATER PARTNER than Bill Gates when we bring God/ Our Greater Power
into our business. As I like to call it, “Hitching our wagon to a BIG STAR!!”

James and I did each other’s manifesation formulae yesterday, and it WAS powerful. When he was speaking the “already done visualization” he brought elements into it that I wouldn’t have thought of, but that were accurate. It was awesome. Thank you for thinking of it and sharing it.
